Kishi Bashi is the pseudonym for K. Ishibashi, an American singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter. A renowned violinist and founding member of Jupiter One, Ishibashi has toured with the likes of Sondre Lerche, Regina Spektor, and continues to tour with the indie rock group, of Montreal.

Kishi Bashi played to a sold out crowd at the 2014 Mission Creek Festival and released a new album, Sonderlust in September of 2016. The word “sonder” essentially means the awareness that everyone around you has a complex life of his or her own. A title that makes sense when reading a recent NPR album review of Sonderlust wherein the article called his new work, “shiny electro-pop that whizzes, squeals and often feels as if it’s about to fly off the rails altogether.”
