A sound that fittingly recalls adolescent angst in a ’90s-era basement, Cloud Nothings found its roots as the solo bedroom project of Cleveland, OH teenager Dylan Baldi. Now, the lo-fi rock band is nearly five albums in, with Life Without Sound to be released next month, following their 2015 collaborative effort, No Life for Me, with grunge punk peers Wavves.
SPIN Magazine has fondly referred to them as “emo’s sweet spot” and for good reason. The band effortlessly marries fevered riffs with bass-heavy chorus, viscerally capturing the all-too-familiar bittersweet experiences of youth.
